It’s my husband’s birthday today! Not a moment goes by that I don’t think of how grateful I am that he’s mine. He really is an incredible man…(insanely) patient, kindhearted, and loving. He gives honest but gentle opinions. He likes computer games and Downton Abbey. He makes cheese (damn good cheese). He is the most loyal person I’ve ever known and true love came into my life the moment I met him. (Corny I know, but so, so true.) I wish that I could give him the world on his birthday, because that is what I feel he has given me. Alas, he had to settle for ice cream…
Ever since Justin and I cut out processed foods from our diet, we’ve had a really hard time finding ice cream that fit our criteria in local grocery stores. Even our Farmers market-like stores didn’t seem to have anything all natural. A fellow blogger recently posted about Jeni’s ice creams and with the way that Chloe eats, I knew this must be legit. Jeni explains her ice cream perfectly:
“We create ice creams we fall madly in love with, that we want to bathe in, that make us see million-year-old stars… Every single thing we put in our ice cream is legit. Generic chemist-built ice cream bases and powdered astronaut-friendly gelato mixes? No, ma’am. We build every recipe from the ground up with luscious, Snowville milk and cream from cows that eat grass.”
I was so excited to see this ice cream and I instantly knew what I wanted to get Justin for his birthday! (For all you skeptics, we really love our ice cream at the Vetter house.) I got him the Jeni’s Picks Collection and we’ve already had a few spoons of the Dark Chocolate and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. OMG. That’s all I can say.
