Last weekend, Justin and I threw ourselves a combined birthday barbecue (mine is June 15th, his is June 23rd} and we had an absolute blast. We woke up at 8am ready to go shopping and start cooking the dishes I’d picked out well in advance (I love searching for recipes). The whole day was a blur and we pretty much stayed in the kitchen from 10am until 6pm when our firsts guests showed up. But it was SO much fun for us! Have you ever attempted to cook or prepare 12 dishes in 8 hours? It’s tough, but so much fun. It was even more fun eating it all later on…

I was so concerned with this salsa because I thought I’d made it way too spicy, but it was a super hit with everyone! I kept hearing, “It has a perfect balance of sweet and spicy.”

These were not as popular as I thought they would be, but Justin and I loved having all the leftovers in our lunches throughout the week. They were delicious!
Nicole bought a really cool cake pan in Paris and made us some incredible mini pound cakes! She made the frosting too and it was SO good!
Frankie pouted because he couldn’t have any of our food. (I’m sure someone gave him something. )
